Entry Specifications
The top 100 domestic songs from those entered for the "Song of the Year" award will be selected as initial entries for this award.

From those, the top 30 songs voted for by general listeners in Japan and overseas using Spotify's general voting function, will be combined with the Nominees for the following awards which are announced on April 17th:
"Best Japanese Song", "Best J-Rock Song", "Best Japanese Hip-Hop/Rap Song", "Best Japanese R&B/Contemporary Song", "Best Japanese Dance Pop Song", "Best Japanese Alternative Song", "Best Japanese Singer-Songwriter Song", "Best Idol Culture Song", "Best Anime Song", "Best Enka/Kayōkyoku Song", "Best Revival Hit Song", "Best Vocaloid Culture Song" (5 nominees/Award).

This creates a final pool of 90 nominated songs. International listeners will then vote on these 90 songs to determine the winner of the "Best of Listeners' Choice: Japanese Song" award.

*Applicable only to Japan-based Artists' songs.
**If a song appears in both the top 30 "Song of the Year" entries and the 5 nominees for any of the individual genre awards, it will be counted as one entry without any advancement or replacement.
